ENTER THE MUSE :  Peter takes a look at his own Muses and the interplay they have on his life and his own painting. In Mythology, the Muses were nine goddesses who symbolized the arts and sciences. Today, a Muse, that transpersonal aspect of our awareness through which creative insight and innovation can pour into us; a woman, or a force personified as a woman, who is the source of inspiration for creative artists, writers, painters and musicians.

"Where Two Oceans Meet and Beyond Exhibition"
 27th August until 30th September 2011

A recent plane trip along the coastline between Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin has been the inspiration for some of these artworks. Peter’s painting  ' Where Two Oceans Meet' captures the grandeur of this Western Australian icon, where two oceans meet at the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. His strong expressive brush strokes and the unusual perspective place us high above the ocean giving us a bird’s eye view of this rugged landscape, Peter draws his inspiration from subjects that surround him, where he captures the ever changing ambience and atmosphere that permeate this wonderful region.

Searching For Shade  Statement

Baking in an ocean of sand we recall Memories of a Golden Age, where oceans abounding with life lapped at our feet and  we built sandcastles by the sea, lost in our dreams, we blink and like a sting in the tail, our reality, like our Sandcastles and Lost Dreams begin to crumble and disappear into a mirage of wasteland. Man has cast a shadow, this Earth Shadow, where everything is taken greedily and without thought, lands begins to wither and we start to wander, forever wandering with only our shadows for company, Searching, Searching, Searching for our Tree of Life and our survival, only to find it has withered and has also died, we look down and see an hour glass that is almost out of time.

Awakening from this dream state, we realize it was only a bad nightmare,  a warning.

There is Still Time and we need to change our ways or this reality will become our nightmare forever and everything will become Parched and all life will disappear into the void of the Shadow Space and we shall all  return to dust.
